What Is Erotikos?

Erotikos is Greek for Erotica.  Sexy spelling we think.  Erotikos itself is more about the tease than the actual act and requires an appreciation of both the art of seduction and a  level of intelligence to understand the innuendo and intrigue. Erotica is intellectual and foreplay which includes all the senses.

Mission & Objective

Erotikos Film Festival is a place for films of the erotic nature.  Films that tease the senses of sexual arousal.  Steamy stories that reach new heights of desire.  Films where artistry and cinematography meet the erotic to reveal beauty in love and sexual desire.

Its the erotic curiosity in Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut.  Its the playful ice scene that pushes boundaries in 9 1/2 weeks.  Its seduction.  Its tease.  Its giving into emotion and passion.  Erotikos Films contain the heightened sense of eroticism and the elegance of story-telling.

About The Festival

The inaugural International Erotikos Film Festival will bring feature films, short films, and music videos to be presented and judged in one of the most exotic and erotic adult locations in the world…Hedonism II.

We are responding to a yearning for more creativity in the area of erotica films and art.  The Erotikos Film Festival offers a forum for a creative, intriguing, artistic exploration of “erotic cinema” beyond mainstream pornography.

Independent filmmakers from around the world weigh in with their entertaining and provocative features, challenging and celebrating sex and sensuality as we may or may not know it.

Erotikos Film Festival will not be seeking films with a single purpose to show sex, graphically and explicitly with no need for imagination or intelligence. There are other places for these type films.

Judges will select the best films in special categories. Guests will participate in the Peoples’ Choice Award for Best Picture. Films will be awarded an EFF statue and a cash prize.

This festival is designed to raise the bar of creativity and artistic expression.  Raw hard core porn is not what we are seeking.  Erotikos Films will be made up of films that stimulates your mind as well as stirs your body.

EFF seeks films that depict drama, comedy, musicals, and romantic work that is about a subject and sex or seduction is part of the story.  It may or may not be overt. We were happy to share this erotic art form with a large international variety of people and remind them how broad human sexuality can be.

We do seek Independent film makers of all kinds.  Most of the submissions are from career filmmakers, aspiring professionals, and art students.

Music videos will be featured on the resorts closed-circuit television station the entire week as well as throughout the festival.

What NOT to submit

Erotikos Film Festival will not be seeking films with a single purpose to show sex, graphically and explicitly, with no need for imagination or intelligence.

Any films that:

• are illegal in production or content
• depict illegal acts, such as underage sex or bestiality
• show minors in sexually explicit scenes
• were made without full stated permission of all actors

Erotikos Film Festival is partnering with Withoutabox.com to handle all feature films, short films, and music video submissions and release forms regarding music licensing and use of actors.

Erotikos Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize an excerpt and information from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes and press releases.

The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized to commit the film for screening, and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.

The undersigned shall indemnify and hold harmless Erotikos Film Festival from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening videos entered.

Notification of Acceptance

Film makers will be notified by June 1, 2012 for acceptance into the Erotikos Film Festival.

Awards

Judges will select the best films in special categories.  Guests and attendees will participate in the peoples choice award for best picture.  Films will be awarded the EFF Statue and cash prizes.

HEDONISM II TO HOST FIRST-EVER INTERNATIONAL EROTIKOS FILM FESTIVAL SEPTEMBER 15-22, 2012 

HOLLYWOOD, FL, November 15, 2011 – Erotica is something that stimulates the mind and stirs the body. Celebrating a genre of film often overlooked, the first-ever international Erotikos Film Festival will take place September 15-22, 2012, at the notorious Super-Inclusive Hedonism II Resort and Spa in Negril, Jamaica. The inaugural event will give international filmmakers of feature films, short films, and music videos the opportunity to showcase, compete, and promote their works that tease and heighten the senses of arousal.

The Erotikos Film Festival, which was designed to raise the bar on creativity and artistic expression, will feature films where artistry and cinematography meet the erotic to reveal beauty in love and sexual desire. The Festival is seeking entries that entertain with a good story and evoke emotion and passion like the erotic curiosity stirred by Stanley Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut, the playful ice scene that pushed boundaries in 9 1/2 Weeks, and the tease of Hess Is More’s music video “Yes Boss.”  Judges will select the best films in special categories while Hedonism II guests will vote for the “People’s Choice Award for Best Picture.”  Winners will be presented an Erotikos Film Festival statue and cash prizes.
